Chargers & Dischargers

Postby Shaggy on Sun Aug 16, 2009 10:11 pm

Well earlier today I bought my first AEG which was Razors sweet Rx4 (which he calls 'Kara' :? ) sadly I didn't get a battery with it (Lucky lent me a spare one for the day y'see). At the end of the day on the way back home Razor recomended getting a 9.6v mini battery like this one - http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acata ... .html#a397 - said it would give the AEG more kick and last pretty much an entire games day.
So my question is what charger & discharger should i purchase? (remember first time AEG owner and a noob here :( )
Anyone got a £8 note?

Depends on how much you want to spend. You could get a £10 quick charger for Ni-MH (the battery type most people use, although Li-Po batteries are becoming more common place.)

Something like the following:

http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/Special-Offe ... /p-92-608/

is much better, as it does Ni-MH/Ni-CD & Li-Po (a bit steep at £60 though, I'm sure others have gotten them for ~£35.) It also has voltage detection, cut-off (so your battery doesn't melt by trying to overcharge) as well as trickle charging. Think of that like exercise for your battery. Some even have discharges built-in, which in conjunction with trickle charging helps you keep your battery in tip top condition.

Try www.fire-support.co.uk or www.airsoftworld.co.uk for them. Personally, I've got a Delta Pro-Peak 2500. It's dated, but serves me well. Do a search for 'O-IP2500' on www.zerooneairsoft.co.uk (the search bar is at the top) to see it. For £30 though, I'd recommed trying to get a hold of the first one I pasted, as it's future proof (doing Li-Po and all that jiggery.)

Talking of dischargers :?

Is it safe to leave a fully charged battery in a charged state?
