Yup this is one of the bits we need help with. Need to be able to project onto a fairly large screen more than likely made from white bed sheets or sommit. So figure four double sheets stitched together, hung on the quarry wall.

Also need a fairly good sound setup. We used Luckies last Halloween which maybe a possibility this time but if anyone has any ideas or better kit we could use then let us know.

Also need an AV/Sound squint with the kit.

I'd hardly say I'm an AV squint but I used to sell the stuff and know how to set it all up so am happy to help where needed

mostly only do AV stuff in 12v vehicles but im willing to lend a hand as usual

Nice one guys. If we get kit loaned it wont be a really complicated set up - I hope - but I wouldnt trust myself with it. Also will need to weather proof the setup with gazeebo or sommit.

I might be able to get holed of a sound system. I am buying one off a friend of a friend if he still has them when i get the money together (When i stop buying airsoft stuff)

I can bring projector and spare xbox 360 but will need a generator (240v), I think someone mentioned on Sunday that they had/were getting one.

No no very real plan to get a Gennie for the SPecials / GZ. Hope fully have it in the next few weeks.

just thought id mention on the subject of gennys, was talking to a bloke i know who uses them on his fishing boat, hes just bought a new one cos his old one nackered. he mentioned he got a canny good deal on it from machine mart. might be of interest to you if you havent already settled on one

Problems:
What cable do I need from the lappy to the projector (assuming it is a pc projy not a home cinema job, or are they the same thing?)

Next lappy sound out is 1/8 inch stereo and amp input is 1/4 inch mono, so if I just scale the cable I am going to lose half of the sound into the amp.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get 1/8 inch stereo into 1/4 inch mono. Guessing the channels need mixing and it should be possible with the clever application of connectrs but I cant figure it

Bear in mind that once set this setup will be going to GZ etc so help now is mucho appreciated.

The lappy to projector cable is a vga one, I believe I have one to use, unsure about the sound though

I have a 20 foot vga cable we are also going to need some sort of surge protection from the geenie, speaker's i think i have a couple of 10 inch moniter speaker's ,don't have an amp.
I can make the leed's to connect the sound and we could use an xbox to be the dvd media player rather than the laptop as it makes it easier to connect to an amp as it already has phono leads on the vga cable.

I have a spare (in case of inevitable breakdowns) xbox 360 plus VGA for projector. Projector does have sound but it's a bit tinny and wouldn't carry well in the quarry!!

Also have Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan (DTS Remastered version) on DVD

Secondly I need to run a mic through something for Raze for the awards which is why I was looking at a guitar style amp.
