July 20th - a few snaps

Postby Ivan on Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:34 pm

Hello guys...

Just a few snaps I took with my phone, so not terrific quality. They are all pretty small so I put them all up...

...I know the last one looks a bit random - but this was my latest aquisition curtesy of Mr. Silent Bob - a Soviet era Army officer's belt! :)

Excellent snaps, would you mind if I used one of them on my facebook site? (the one of Sylar and myself)

No problem at all! Just sorry they are such low quality... :)

Here's a littel sketch of me uniform of the day - Russian VDV (paratrooper) Recon Scout. The camo is called 'Flecktar-D' and is Russian copy of the Danish Army camo (which in turn is a 3 colour version of the German Army Flecktarn).

I thought your camo was really good in the leafier parts of the woods, I might get something similar.. I though it was Danish M84

Cheers Toes...

It's OK for high summer woodland, but it's a *little* on the bright green side, I seemed to be OK in the bushes, but out in the darker stuff and earthy area I felt really conspicuous! :D

...It's quite hard to tell the Russian and Danish versions apart...Here's the difference (....who says I'm a camo geek??? LOL) -----

The Russian camo is on the bottom - the boonie is Danish.

Personally, I think the Danish version, being a shade darker, is the better camo. The Danish set is available from Flecktarn.co.uk if you are interested.

Yeah, I was looking at it there last night.

I'm quite keen on the Canadian CADPAT too. Anyway, Ta very much, I'm actually more likely to get the Danish now I know it's a bit darker (plus it's a fair bit cheaper than the CADPAT)..

Nice one! Let me know what you think when you get it...

Your weapon options for Danish are quite good - they stem from H&K G3s up til the mid-90s and then Diemaco C7 or C8 (read 'M16' and 'M4' carbine). :)
