Masada Clones

Postby Shaggy on Fri Sep 04, 2009 8:00 pm

I came across some Masada clones from A&K today, http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acata ... M16_s.html and it raised a question.
Didn't A&K get slapped with a lawsuit from Magpul who designed the masada/bushmaster saying that they breached copyright or somthing along those lines?

Normaly I snap one of these up right now (coz I think the masada looks sexy :P specialy the black one 8) ) but two things are stopping me from getting them.
1)I'm not UKRAA registered yet
2)I don't get paid untill Sept 27th
So Shaggy not very happy at the moment... :(
Anyone got a £8 note?

IIRC Magpul finally gave in and licensed A&K to sell em, can't remember where I heard it know though.

will soooo be getting one soon. although i heard the gear box is terrible so that will have to come out, tight bore barrel, new hop up, 9.6 volt battery, throw the high cap in the bin (mids all the way!) then shove on a silencer and a red dot foregrip and bipod an i think im about there :). but my god the look of that is sexy. shame its not all metal!

Well the real thing's mainly made of plastic anyway (except the obvious bits, Barrel etc..) so not really :P

erm no. Breach bolt trigger barrel. Obvious that they try to save weight by using polymers wherever they can. Also means they can get the bits made in china. Rather than an extorionate US gun house. Yup you heard china make bits for US weapons. Weeeeird.

Finally managed to snag one of 'em up :D and got it delivered a couple of days ago and I'm rather fond of it already. Can't wait to bring it the the next games day and put it through its paces to see how it performs 8)

-edit-
Word of note gents, the six postion adjustable stock is unable to support the weight of the gun when its left swinging at youre side
:example:
When attached with a bungee sling (when the butt is adjusted on the 1st position), the adjustable butt can’t hold the weight and slide down to the 6th position and making a bit of a racket when it happens aswell.

Also some of the stock masadas have been clocked shooting at 470 fps  even though the suppliers say they shoot at 280-310 fps so if you do pick one up best check the fps (haven't got a chronograph at my place so I can't check).

If mine performs well at the next games day (if I make it) I'll take it with me to catterick if I can get there. *crosses fingers*

6mm gearbox, bit pants. I've done the usual and ripped it to bits before proper play. Hope it's sorted and will bring this week. Bought 8mm bearing box to put everything in if it's pants. Needed tight bore and hop very dubious.
