UPGRADING MY M4

Postby Littletruck on Fri Aug 21, 2009 12:29 pm

I have a new JG S SYSTEM M4 & im looking to upgrade it, I have just ordered the following items:

Element Air-Seal Hop-Up Chamber Set
Element Hop-Up Rubber Set (Red)

What else do i need to increase range & ROF without changing my FPS to much.

If I upgrade my battery to 9.6v or 10.8v should i upgrade the motor also to handle the extra power?

Im also looking for a crane stock.....if anyone has a spare for sale.

A tight bore barrel will make the rifle more accurate (stop the bb's spreading out so much) and will raise the FPS (slightly). It's the cheapest way to improve a stock rifle..

It's the only upgrade I've made to my M16. Apart from repairing all the damage caused by my unfortunate lipo battery venture

Number one thing to do, realise all AEGs spread their shots tight bore or not, getting that super perfect stream is a dream(Hey it rhymes and everything)
Regular cleaning of your barrel will help too.
If your wanting to chuck in a higher voltage battery make sure your internals can take it, it will put alot more strain on your internals and can bring about some impressive failures.
Softer hop rubber will give better friction to the BB increasing spin but will wear out faster.
Make sure your not having to dial in tonnes of hop to get the BB traveling like you want it or chances are you will rip the rubber or just suffer jam after jam (Oh and if it does jam get off the bloody trigger!)
Don't bother messing about with barrel length, the S-System is about bang on when it comes to finding the right length. Popular belief says its around 360mm ish I think but I run an m4 with 10cm barrel so hey ho :)
Dont use crappy BBs, cheap is not cheerful in this situation. Also consider moving up to .25s as they would be less effected by wind and team mates farting but they will travel to the target slower (Dont try cheat the chrono now... we will bust you :P)
For me though, getting a high ROF isn't as important as getting a rifle accurate... I would rather hit with five shots than miss with fifty :)

Most clones come with a tightbore as standard now so I wouldn't bother replacing it.

As lucky said check the internals before putting higher voltage batteries in. You should be okay with a 9.6 but anything higher and you could be asking for trouble (just ask GOTJ). I'd check to make sure a bigger battery will fit in the foregrip first as if it's an exact clone of the TM then you might not have enough room. Same goes if you're going the crane stock battery route you may struggle fitting larger voltage packs.

Hey I know I never really post much in here as I am no squint. I can save you a whole load of cash and time.

Its so simple you wont believe, you can start by entering the game zone, you will find that the extra range your looking for is much easier when you and your team are not hiding each others sausage in the brown starfish in the safe zone :-)

I hope this was of some help for you and all your Shoot2Stupid buddies

Dear god, is this the new nsc tradition? lining up a member of s2k to take pot shots at the start of the game day?

One thing in our favour is that razor has a lot of ass so even we should be able to hit it.

CO to 1/ic recon

Roger on the 0.29g inbound.

Mission requirement
Avoid collateral damage at all costs
S2K secondaries are legitimate targets, remove at all costs whilst maintaining mission integrity re Alpha and Bravo Targets
Headshots preferable, adams apples also good.

Stand by, Stand by.
